The Athlete of the Week nominees for March 22-28. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with next week’s poll. Each weekly winner will be included in an Athlete of the Month poll. Last week’s winner is included below.

Tyson Lang | Glacier Peak | Football

Lang, a senior, completed 18 of 30 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns in the Grizzlies’ 39-6 victory over Archbishop Murphy on March 19. The Glacier Peak quarterback won last week’s poll by claiming 623 of 3,082 (20.2%) votes.

This week’s nominees:

Ryan Black | Glacier Peak | Football

Black, a senior, scored five total touchdowns in the Grizzlies’ 63-21 victory over Monroe on March 26. He took the game’s opening handoff 73 yards for a touchdown and added scoring runs of 67, 55 and 1 yards. He also hauled in an 11-yard touchdown reception.

Bo Carlton | Archbishop Murphy | Boys cross country

Carlton, a senior, set a new 2.5-mile course record at Lynnwood High School with a time of 13 minutes, 37 seconds on March 24. He bested the previous record by 38 seconds.

Carson Chrisman | Lakewood | Football

Chrisman, a senior, had a 98-yard kickoff return, a 36-yard touchdown run, a 29-yard completion on a halfback pass and an interception on defense in the Cougars’ 32-21 win over Archbishop Murphy on March 26. He finished with 74 yards rushing and a touchdown on eight carries.

Rachel Elliott | Lynnwood | Girls cross country

Elliott, a sophomore, broke her own 2.5-mile Lynnwood High School course record with a time of 17 minutes, 5 seconds on March 24. She topped her previous mark by 21 seconds.

Paige Gerrard and Ellie Baxter | Snohomish | Girls cross country

Gerrard and Baxter finished well ahead of the rest of the pack in each of the Panthers’ five meets this season, including their March 26 dual meet with Glacier Peak. Gerrard, a freshman, won the 5,000-meter race in 18 minutes, 50 seconds. Baxter, a senior, placed second in 19:10. Both times are among the top 20 in the 3A classification this spring.

Jayden Limar | Lake Stevens | Football

Limar, a sophomore, racked up three touchdowns and 187 yards from scrimmage on just 12 touches in the Vikings’ 43-36 victory over Marysville Pilchuck. Limar ran for 131 yards and two scores on eight carries and caught four passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Vincent Loftis | Arlington | Boys cross country

Loftis, a senior, ran a winning time of 14 minutes, 48.0 seconds in a three-mile race during a March 24 dual meet with Lake Stevens. It ranks as the second-fastest time in the state this season at that distance, regardless of classification.

Ellie Lombard | Mountlake Terrace | Volleyball

Lombard, a junior, delivered 10 kills and seven blocks to help the Hawks continue their unbeaten season with a 3-1 victory over Archbishop Murphy on March 22. She posted the same stat line two nights later in a 3-0 victory over Meadowdale.

Carp Mukai | Kamiak | Boys cross country

Mukai, a senior, posted a winning time of 13 minutes, 16.0 seconds in a 4,000-meter race during a March 25 dual meet with Mariner. He won all four of his races this season, including a narrow 4,000-meter victory over Jackson standouts Brenden Charbeneau and Jordan Hansen on March 10.

Jasmine Nguyen | Marysville Getchell | Girls cross country

Nguyen, a senior, ran a winning time of 18 minutes, 55.0 seconds in a three-mile race during a March 26 dual meet with Lake Stevens. She won all five of her races this season.

Ryann Reynolds | Glacier Peak | Girls soccer

Reynolds, a sophomore, scored three goals and added an assist in the Grizzlies’ 5-0 victory over Arlington on March 25. She also scored a goal in Glacier Peak’s 4-0 win over Stanwood on March 23.

Tatum Smith | Lake Stevens | Volleyball

Smith, a senior, posted 12 kills, eight digs and three aces as the Vikings topped Snohomish 3-0 in a matchup of unbeaten squads on March 25.
