Vote for The Herald’s Prep Athlete of the Week for May 17-23

The Athlete of the Week nominees for May 17-23. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with next week’s poll and will be included in the paper on Tuesday, June 1. Each weekly winner will be entered into the Athlete of the Month poll.

Emma Floyd | Stanwood | Girls basketball
Floyd, a junior, tied a program record by hitting six 3-pointers in the Spartans’ 74-17 win over Marysville Pilchuck on May 12. She finished the game with 22 points. She won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week for May 10-16 by claiming 714 of 2,463 (29%) votes.
Note: Athlete of the Week winners aren’t eligible for a nomination the following week.

Shae Dixon | Lakewood | Boys basketball
Dixon, a senior, scored 24 points in back-to-back games as he helped the Cougars to victories over Arlington on May 19 and Snohomish on May 21. Dixon scored 15 of his 24 points against Arlington in the second half as Lakewood rallied from a halftime deficit to win.
Ella Gallatin | Snohomish | Girls basketball
Gallatin, a junior, scored 23 points in just 19 minutes as Snohomish topped Edmonds-Woodway 60-45 on May 20. She also scored a team-high 23 points in the Panthers’ 61-53 loss to Arlington on May 17.
Alan Garcia | Cascade | Boys wrestling
Garcia won his match 182-pound match against Diego Amos by a 13-11 overtime decision to help Cascade edge Lynnwood 37-36 in a dual meet May 20.
Vlad Gilszmer | Kamiak | Boys swim and dive
Gilszmer, a senior, swam his way to victories in the 100-yard backstroke and 200 freestyle and was also a member of the Knights’ victorious 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams in a three-team meet May 19. Gilszmer finished the 100 backstroke in 54.07 seconds and the 200 freestyle in 1 minute, 43.16 seconds.
Zach Ingle | Archbishop Murphy | Boys basketball
Ingle, a senior, scored a game-high 23 points to lead Archbishop Murphy to a 61-52 win over Edmonds-Woodway on May 19. He also scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 69-57 win over Cedarcrest on May 17.
Fatoumata Jaiteh | Meadowdale | Girls basketball
Jaiteh, a senior, scored a game-high 23 points in Meadowdale’s 61-56 overtime loss to Cedarcrest on May 18. She also scored a game-high 19 points as the Mavericks beat Kamiak 60-34 on May 20.
Malakhi Knight | Marysville Getchell | Boys basketball
Knight, a senior, poured in a season-high 37 points to lead Marysville Getchell past Monroe 67-53 on May 21.
Adria Lincoln | Monroe | Girls basketball
Lincoln, a sophomore, scored a game-high 34 points and pulled down nine rebounds in Monroe’s 77-61 loss to Kamiak May 18.
Chris Raynor | Everett | Boys swim and dive
Raynor won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke with times of 2 minutes, 5.19 seconds and 1:02.61, respectively, as Everett beat Monroe 83-64 in a dual meet May 19.
Tyler Sargent | Sultan | Boys basketball
Sargent, a junior, made four 3-pointers and scored 21 of his game-high 28 points in the first half as Sultan defeated Bush 85-51 on May 18. He also hit four 3-pointers on his way to scoring a game-high 20 points in a 81-26 victory over Granite Falls on May 20.
Jenna Villa | Arlington | Girls basketball
Villa, a sophomore, scored a game-high 22 points to help lift Arlington to a 77-36 win over Jackson on May 20. She also scored 14 points in the Eagles’ 61-53 win over Snohomish on May 17.
