The Athlete of the Week nominees for Aug. 30-Sept. 4. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with next week’s poll and in Tuesday, Sept. 14’s paper. Each weekly winner will be included in an Athlete of the Month poll.

Elyse Baker | Lake Stevens | Girls Soccer

Baker, a senior, recorded a hat trick in the Vikings’ season opening 5-1 victory over Lincoln (Seattle) on Sept. 4.

Derek Feltner | Sultan | Football

Feltner, a sophomore, ran for 267 yards and five touchdowns on just 14 carries as the Turks claimed a 50-42 comeback win over Evergreen (Seattle) on Sept. 3. Feltner scored on runs of 66, 53, 17, 47 and 53 yards.

Reece Nelson | Jackson | Volleyball

Nelson, a junior, recorded 18 digs and 13 kills as the Timberwolves won in straight sets against Archbishop Murphy on Sept. 3.

Trent Nobach | Arlington | Football

Nobach, a senior, completed 22-of-28 passes for 308 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Eagles to a 35-7 victory over Edmonds-Woodway on Sept. 3.

Cartez Williams | Mariner | Football

Williams, a junior, ran for two touchdowns, caught a 49-yard TD pass and returned a punt 66 yards for a score in the Marauders 47-14 victory over Lynnwood on Sept. 3. He rushed for 171 yards on 20 carries.

JuJu Williams | Everett | Football

Williams, a senior, racked up 283 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries in the Seagulls’ 59-7 win over Bellingham on Sept. 3.
