BOYS BASKETBALL

Northwest Conference

Lakewood 63, Nooksack Valley 49

ARLINGTON — Justice Taylor scored a game-high 25 points and Lakewood outscored Nooksack Valley 36-19 between the second and third quarters on its way to Northwest Conference victory.

Blake Conyers added 13 points and Andrew Molloy eight for the Cougars (4-0, 3-0 league).

Brady Ackerman paced the Pioneers (1-4, 0-3) with 18 points.

Northwest 1B

Grace Academy 74, Providence Classical Christian 41

MARYSVILLE — Logan Anderson poured in a game-high 30 points to help Grace Academy open Northwest 1B play with a victory.

Nicholas Lenhardt chipped in 22 points for the Eagles (2-1, 1-0 league).

Non-league

Jackson 84, Marysville Pilchuck 73

MARYSVILLE — Sylas Williams and Drilon Veliu combined for 49 points as Jackson picked up a non-league road win over Marysville Pilchuck.

Williams scored 10 of his team-high 27 points in the first quarter as the Timberwolves (4-0) built an early 14-point lead and poured in 15 more in the third. Veliu knocked down 8 of 9 free-throw attempts on his way to 22 points.

Bradley Tharp added 11 points to round out a trio of Jackson players in double figures.

Anthony Najera netted a game-high 28 points to lead the Tomahawks (1-1). Benjamin Baxter added 12 points and Ethan Gutenkauf 10.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Northwest Conference

Nooksack Valley 73, Lakewood 20

Non-league

Shorewood 57, Cascade 24

SHORELINE — Gabbi Santiago netted a game-high 12 points and Kate Evans chipped in 11 as Shorewood routed Cascade.

The Thunderbirds improved to 2-3.

Abby Surowiec led the Bruins (0-3) with 11 points.

Jackson 58, Redmond 45

REDMOND — Giselle Dogan led all scorers with 25 points and Jackson used a 41-point second half to secure a non-league win over Redmond.

Abby Grayson added 18 points for the Timberwolves (3-1).

Iha Kasam paced the Mustangs (1-5) with 14 points.
