BOYS BASKETBALL

Wesco 4A

Mariner 73, Jackson 53

EVERETT — Makai Bloomfield connected on four 3-pointers and scored a team-high 14 points to lead a balanced attack as Mariner held Jackson to a season-low point total in a key Wesco 4A win.

Tijan Saine added 13 points, Dakota Joseph 11 and Maser Motley nine for the Maruaders (8-6, 2-0 league).

All eight Mariner players that checked into the game scored at least five points.

Bradley Tharp’ 15 points led the Timberwolves (10-2, 1-1). Sylas Williams chipped in 11 points.

Wesco 3A/2A

Arlington 68, Monroe 46

MONROE — Ethan Martin netted a game-high 26 points as Arlington topped Monroe in a Wesco 3A/2A matchup.

Gage Price chipped in 11 points and David Zachman 10 for the Eagles (9-3, 7-1 league).

The win pulled Arlington back even with Shorecrest atop the conference standings. The Eagles hold the tiebreaker after knocking of Shorecrest in December.

Steve Kuhnle paced the Bearcats (4-5, 4-3) with 14 points and Hayden Creswell added 13.

Archbishop Murphy 59, Snohomish 48

EVERETT — Ben Snider scored 17 of his game-high 20 points in the second half and Archbishop Murphy outscored Snohomish 20-9 in the third quarter on its way to a Wesco 3A/2A victory.

Snider sank five 3-pointers, Aaron Ownes chipped in a career-high 16 points and Cade Galbraith added 13 for the Wildcats (4-5, 4-3 league).

The Panthers (4-6, 2-5) were led by 14 points from Amari Biggs. Hudson Capelli and Peyton Hanning added 10 points apiece.

Everett 79, Marysville Getchell 56

MARYSVILLE — Isaiah White and Jaiden Teklemichael each scored 20 points, combining for 18 in the third quarter, as Everett thumped Marysville Getchell in a Wesco 3A/2A contest.

Hayden Conaxis added 12 points and 10 different Seagulls (4-6, 3-2 league) scored.

Jordan Swanson hit four 3-pointers and led the Chargers (3-8, 3-5) with 16 points.

Cedar Park Christian-Lynnwood 61, Fellowship Christian 43

Grace Academy at Providence Classical Christian, score not reported

Non-league

Kamiak 84, Kent Meridian 45

RENTON — Josiah Pierre poured in 37 points and Kamiak rolled to a non-league victory over Kent Meridian.

Chance Loudenback recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds and Nolan Martin added six points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Knights (6-4).

Kent Meridian fell to 3-5.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wesco 3A/2A

Arlington 81, Monroe 36

MONROE — Freshman Kierra Reese netted a career-high 25 points to help Arlington stay unbeaten in Wesco 3A/2A play with a rout of Monroe.

Keira Marsh and Jenna Villa each added 18 points as the Eagles (8-1, 6-0 league) reached a season-high point total.

The Bearcats fell to 1-9 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Archbishop Murphy 55, Meadowdale 50

EVERETT — Taylor Reed led a quartet of Wildcats in double figures with 12 points and Archbishop Murphy overcame an 11-point halftime deficit to earn a Wesco 3A/2A win over Meadowdale.

Taylor Campbell chipped in 11 points and Ava Marr and Hannah Humphrey each added 10 for the Wildcats (8-3, 4-1 league), who held Meadowdale to just five points in the third period and turned their 11-point deficit into a five-point lead by the end of the quarter.

Gia Powell sank four 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 18 points to lead the Mavericks (5-5, 2-2). Jordyn Leith added 12 points, connecting on four 3-pointers as well.

Northwest Conference

Lynden 51, Lakewood 18

ARLINGTON — Megan Omlid scored eight points and Mandy Harrison added six as Lakewood (3-7, 2-7 league) fell to Lynden in a Northwest Conference matchup.

Haylee Koetje led the Lions (10-2, 10-0) with 18 points, Adia Newcomb added 12 and Claire DeVries 10.

Non-league

Lake Stevens 75, Tahoma 66

KENT — Baylor Thomas scored 25 points and Camille Jentzsch and Chloe Pattison each recorded double-doubles as Lake Stevens handed fellow Class 4A state playoff contender Tahoma its first in-state loss of the season.

Jentzsch netted 16 points and pulled down 17 rebounds while Pattison finished two assists shy of a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

The Vikings (11-1) raced out to 47-28 lead at the half and held Tahoma to just 32.4% shooting from the field.

Hope Hassmann led the Bears (11-2) with 25 points and Angelina Cavanaugh added 19.
