KENNEWICK — Braden Holt earned a shutout in goal and the first-place Everett Silvertips pulled away late to beat the Tri-City Americans 3-0 on Friday night for their fifth win in six games and third in a row.

Holt stopped all 22 shots he faced to tally his third shutout of the season for Everett (28-7-2-2).

The Silvertips carried a slim 1-0 lead into the third period on a second-period goal from Jackson Berezowski.

The game remained tight for most of the final frame until Jacob Wright added an insurance goal on a power play at 15:45 and Hunter Campbell put the game out of reach with an empty-net goal at 17:38.

Tomas Suchanek saved 36 shots for Tri-City (12-20-4-0).

The Silvertips return to action with a 6:05 p.m. home game against Prince George on Saturday night.
