Everett firefighters urge support of school levies

Published 1:30 am Wednesday, February 2, 2022

Your local Everett firefighters are fortunate to serve in such a strong and supportive community that greatly values our first responders and our public schools. We see how important that support is within local schools most every day.

Beyond the expected fire inspections and responding to emergency calls, we are proud to have opportunities to volunteer time to work with students and to provide resources to help those who cannot afford the most basic needs. We see firsthand the positive value of the investments made through the Educational Programs and Operations Levy, ranging from instructional programs and athletics to special education, health, and safety. All of which is beyond what the state funds.

We also know how important the capital levy is to fund technology, safety, security and ongoing building improvements so all students can learn in a safe and clean environment. Both current levies end this year, and they need to be renewed. It is without hesitation that we urge you to vote YES on February 8 for these very important levies!
