Contact friends when you’re not feeling well

In all the letters to the editor, I have never seen the kind of letter that I am writing now. I would like to inform people of problems that I have in keeping up with friends who have passed away.

I think a lot of people share my concern. If I only knew that a person who I care about was having health problem, I could contact them. I would like to express my concern and in a way to say “good bye.” I have known in the past, that i made a agreement with some people that if one of us got sick to let the other know about it. In just about every case, I was not informed.

One case my friend’s wife told me, “Mike told me to call you, but I forgot.” With so much going on, I could understand why. I would encourage people to express to people they care about to let them know if they have a medical problem, to let them know. In turn, you do the same.

I will be 80 years old this year, so if anyone who knows me, let me know if you are not OK. I told my daughter last year (I have not health problems) “When I die, I will miss myself.” I say that with a smile. When a person dies, he or she leaves behind the concern with the memories they have for life. We all make mistakes, but remember the good times. Just a thought.
