Acts of Kindness Group raised $2,600 for charities

The Acts of Kindness Group (AOKs), who are residents of the Washington Oakes Retirement Community, had a great Christmas. They were able to donate $2,600 to local charities before the Christmas holidays.
Money is raised by making masks; adult bibs; having white elephant sales; sale of raffle tickets on a 2-foot Christmas tree decorated with lights, money and ornaments; and filled treat bags with candy and nuts. We have a resident who does alterations and donates all the money she earns to the AOKs.
We are a group of people from 60 to 103 years old. And find it very fulfilling to be able to help those who are less fortunate than we are.
Thank you to all who support us.
