Biden has done what he can on covid, inflation

President Biden’s sinking popularity disappoints me. In the news, I see people want him to “do something” about covid. He has: tirelessly beat the drum for vaccinations and masks; attempted to mandate mask-wearing and vaccinations; sped up the process to make vaccines and tests and even making masks more available.

I see that people are unhappy with inflation, which is a world-wide problem, rampant in every major economy except China. The cause? covid.

At every turn, Biden is thwarted by those who wish to see him fail. If the president had a magic wand to wave to make covid and inflation go away, I’m sure he would wave it. Instead, he has to rely on the people who elected him, and those who didn’t. And, of course, the Federal Reserve, which is tasked with controlling inflation.
