Putin and Ukraine

WWII now excuse for invasion

So, Vladimir Putin fears a repeat of World War II? Come on, now! Germany has, thanks to such fine leaders as now-retired Chancellor Angela Merkel, completely repudiated Naziism, so what Comrade Putin and the recent letter to the editor defending him fears, just will not happen.

Granted, the disbanding of the old Union Soviet Socialist Republic was the right thing to do, but the leaders of Russia at that time can’t take all the credit! Remember, it was our great President Ronald Reagan who urged them to destroy all vestiges of the “evil empire” by saying, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall, ” which he did.

Since the end of the USSR, there have been good leaders of the Russia, such as Gorbachev and Boris Yeltsin, but Putin? No way!

He is an old-fashioned hardline communist in the tradition of Lenin and Stalin, who apparently has his heart set on world conquest, as exemplified by his threats to invade Ukraine!

Anyone who would defend such an evil man is way off base, to say the least!
