Pacifica Chamber Orchestra: The ensemble led by Artistic Director Fred Chu plans a Sunshine Concert at 3 p.m. Feb. 20 at Zion Lutheran Church, 4634 Alger Ave., Everett. The program includes “Nocturne in D Major” by Fyrdor Akimenko; “Transylvania Bluegrass for Violin and String Orchestra” by Serban Nichifor, “Via Della Fortuna” by Sadie Harrison and “Tres Danzas Concertantes” by Xavier Montsalvatge. “Delighted that the Pacifica Chamber Orchestra will be performing my Via della Fortuna for strings,” said Harrison, a noted Australian-born composer who is now based in Dorset, England. “It’s a big, virtuosic, rhythmically complex work, (and) they’re doing it unconducted! Gallery North: The Edmonds gallery will be showcasing Lonni Rae Flowers’ work during February. Flowers works in acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, jewelry, and silk and other textiles. The gallery, 410 Main St., Edmonds, is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

Cascadia Art Museum: On display through Feb. 20 is “Kenjiro Nomura, American Modernist: An Issei Artist’s Journey.” Nomura’s paintings serve as an important record of the Japanese-American experience during World War II. On Feb. 20, a special Day of Remembrance coinciding with the signing of the executive order that sent Japanese-Americans to internment camps is planned for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the museum, 190 Sunset Ave. S., Edmonds.
