Gun magazine ban won’t stop criminals

State Senate Democrats passed Senate Bill 5078, banning large capacity firearm magazines on a party line vote.

Do Senate and House Democrats really think that passing these bills will curtail convicted felons and criminals from using large capacity magazines?

Obviously Senate and House Democrats didn’t bother to Google “cities with the strictest gun laws” or they would have found that New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, Baltimore, San Francisco have some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, but lead the nation in gun violence! Convicted felons and criminals must not have any respect for those strict gun laws and it doesn’t bother them at all. So why would convicted felons and criminals have any respect to comply with SB 5078 and HB 1164 “Large Capacity Magazine Ban?” There isn’t a day that goes by that the news shows firearms confiscated from convicted felons who by law can’t possess firearms, but that doesn’t stop them from having them.

So what will SB 5078 and HB 1164 really accomplish? It will make law-abiding citizens criminals for having these “large capacity magazines” if they can’t prove that they had them before they became illegal.

Liberal left Senate and House Democrats need to put a greater effort in laws to prosecute, convict and sentence criminals to long prison terms rather than looking for ways to let them out of prison early because they are “rehabilitated” and will never break the law again (SB 5036 passed Feb. 2 on party line vote).
