Were covid measures worse than disease?

Finally, there are cracks in the wall on the covid front! Masking is falling to the wayside. Naturally acquired immunity has been accepted as valid. Why the change in the narrative?
Protests all over the world, from New Zealand to Tunisia to Argentina to the truckers in Canada, have captured the public eye. There was a large protest march of hundreds in Everett along Broadway last month, as well, although the local media ignored it. Lockdowns have proven to be ineffective. Passports have not stopped omicron from spreading, as vaccinated people are also infecting others. Even the U.S. Surgeon General and family, fully vaccinated and boosted, are sick with covid.
Countries, states and provinces are slow in relinquishing their emergency powers, yet one by one, we see it happening. The tide is rising and increasing in volume. This is good news.
Yet, long-term damage has been inflicted upon our country. People don’t trust their medical, educational or news institutions like they used to. Truth will bubble up to the surface, but once trust is lost, it is hard to regain.
