The Athlete of the Week nominees for April 4-10. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Tuesday’s paper. Each weekly winner will be included in an Athlete of the Month poll.

Lyle Pinaula | Cascade | Boys Track & Field
Pinaula, a senior, won the long jump with a personal-best leap of 21 feet, 6.5 inches in a three-team meet at Mariner High School on March 31. Pinaula also helped the Bruins’ 4×100 relay team to winning time of 44.81 seconds and finished fourth in the 100- and 200-meter races. Pinaula’s long jump ranked third in the state in Class 3A at the time, according to Athletic.net. He won the Athlete of the Week voting for March 29-April 3 by claiming 1,440 (37.5%) of 3,836 votes.

Barrett Anderson | Stanwood | Girls Track & Field
Anderson, a junior, won the javelin competition with a personal-best throw of 121 feet, 5 inches at the Birger Solberg Invitational in Bellingham on April 9.
Cole Becker | Lake Stevens | Baseball
Becker, a junior, went 4-for-4 with three RBI in the Vikings’ 10-0 win over Everett on April 6. Becker also had two hits in a 5-4 win over Monroe on April 5 and threw six scoreless innings to pick up the win as Lake Stevens beat Arlington 4-0 on April 7.
Carson Burns | Jackson | Baseball
Burns, a senior, threw a perfect in the Timberwolves’ 9-0 win over Lynnwood on April 5. Burns struck out 12 batters and had a multi-hit game at the plate. He also doubled and drove in a run as Jackson beat Edmonds-Woodway 6-2 on April 9.
Rebecca Carson | Shorewood | Softball
Carson, a senior, threw a pair of shutouts while helping the Stormrays to a 3-0 week. Carson allowed just three hits in a 4-0 win over Edmonds-Woodway on April 4 and one hit in a 6-0 victory over Archbishop Murphy on April 8.
Jaquan Means | Mariner | Boys Track & Field
Means, a junior, won the 100- and 200-meter races with personal-best times of 11.28 seconds and 23.03 seconds, respectively, in a three-team meet at Shoreline Stadium on April 7. Means also finished second in both the 110 hurdles (15.84) and 300 hurdles (41.64) at the Birger Solberg Invitational in Bellingham on April 9.
Taylor Millar | Everett | Softball
Millar, a junior, went 4-for-5 with six RBI at the plate and struck five in three scoreless innings in the circle as the Seagulls routed Mariner 24-0 on April 4.
Jaden Oguda | Jackson | Boys Soccer
Oguda, a sophomore, scored the game-tying and go-ahead goals to lift Jackson past Mariner 3-2 on April 8.
