EVERETT — Yanina Sherwood tossed a two-hit shutout and belted two home runs as Jackson advanced to the 4A Wes-King Bi-District tournament semifinals with an 8-0 victory over Glacier Peak at Phil Johnson Ballfields.
Sherwood hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the second and a three-run blast in the fourth to finish with five RBI. She also struck out 11 batters and walked just one in the circle.
Rachel Sysum added a two-run homer the fourth and Simone Williams drove in a run with a single in the sixth for the Timberwolves (20-1).
Ashleigh Wojcik and Faith Jordan each hit a single for the Grizzlies (15-6).
Jackson advances to face Skyline in a winner-to-state semifinal game 4 p.m Wednesday at Phil Johnson Ballfields.
Glacier Peak falls to the consolation bracket and faces Kamiak in a loser-out game 4 p.m. Wednesday at Phil Johnson Ballfields. The winner of that contest faces Lake Stevens at 6 p.m. in another loser-out game.

EVERETT — Lake Stevens fell to Skyline in a 4A Wes-King Bi-District tournament quarterfinals at Phil Johnson Ballfields.
The Vikings (10-9) fall to the consolation bracket and face either Glacier Peak or Kamiak in a loser-out game 6 p.m. Wednesday at Phil Johnson Ballfields.
