Surging AquaSox pull away to beat Hops

EVERETT — Alberto Rodirguez hit a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning, Dariel Gomez added a solo home run in the eighth and the Everett AquaSox pulled away for a 8-3 victory over the Hillsboro Hops at Funko Field.

James Parker added a solo home run and Noelvi Marte had three hits for the AquaSox (16-21), winners of five straight.

Bryce Miller (2-0) struck out nine and allowed four hits over five shutout innings, lowering his earned-run average to 0.82.

Elian Miranda hit a two-run blast and Roby Enriquez added a solo home run for the Hops (18-19).

Hillsboro starter Tineo (1-3) allowed three runs on three hits and one walk over 3.2 innings. He struck out three.
