What Liz Cheney’s loss says about GOP isn’t good

I don’t agree with Rep. Liz Cheney’s stances on taxing the rich, protecting the environment, how important government is or abortion. But I admire her integrity and genuine patriotism. I would be OK with her as president.

That she lost her primary by 37 percentage points speaks crystal clarity as to the profoundly childish, narcissistic, lazy ignorance that has overtaken America. If one person was to declare the lies of the Trump cult, a.k.a. the GOP, one would consider them to be psychotic. But 50 million Americans spouting insanity is the new normal. Any rational person must fear where we’re going morally. Most still are practicing avoidance.
