I strongly support the candidacy of Clyde Shavers for Position 1 in the State Legislature’s 10th District for the following reasons:

Education: He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and of Yale Law School and a lifelong learner.

Community service: He works tirelessly to address complicated problems such as homelessness, veterans’ services and preserving our environment.

Experience: He is a veteran naval officer with nine years of military service protecting our country.

Insight: The son of a career police officer who spent many years assigned to a narcotics unit, he has deep understanding of public safety issues. As a person who spent three decades in law enforcement, I am impressed with his knowledge and commitment for ongoing improvement in this field.

Pro-choice: He believes women, not politicians, should make their own health care decisions.

Collaboration: He has specific, achievable plans to address our district’s and state’s problems, working across the aisle to focus on solutions, not partisan acrimony.

Clyde Shavers is that rare person who has unique and relevant qualifications for the position he seeks. We are very fortunate he has chosen elected public service as his next challenge. It is important he wins this election. Please join me in voting for him this November.
