Reveiw character and experience of police candidates carefully

Since various law enforcement organizations are starting a hiring binge, I was wondering, would now be a good time to look at those that will be doing the interviewing, and, those making the final decisions on who to hire and who not? Maybe a review of the desired qualifications and desired characteristics would be beneficial.

In my 81 years of living and 71 years of working, I can’t remember how many times I saw a person’s personality change when given added responsibilities and authority. Specially authority! I guess I’d like to see some part of the hiring process testing the ability of an applicant to control their adrenaline rushes. (God knows they will be tested when on the job!)
