U.S. Senate: Murray has long record of hard work

It was with a huge breath of gratitude and surprise that I read the opinions of two writers of letters to the editor who must love and respect women, all women, who champion their human rights, voting rights, personal rights, civil rights, and their medical rights rather than deny any of those rights. It was refreshing also to read one point out how ineffectual it is to compare Seattle concerns with those of the country. Tiffany Smiley has a beautiful smile but her politics are in lockstep with those who would deny women’s rights, and gut Social Security and Medicare.

I’ve been voting for Patty Murray since she first ran for public office. She is effective. Research her work: chair of US Senate on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and subcommittee on Appropriations, the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, work to clear supply chain blockages and cut emissions at the Port of Vancouver, energy and water development, transportation, Housing and Urban Development, budget, to cut prescription drug costs, to name a few. She is a powerful Senate voice for the people of Washington as well as the country.

The economy will always be a sore point in our lives. We will cope and people like Patty will continue to work to alleviate the attendant concerns. Please don’t permit loss of human, civil, voting, personal or medical rights to be overshadowed by sudden high inflation. It will ease. However, my daughter and my granddaughters deserve the same rights I’ve had in my life! I vote to keep those rights! We still need Patty Murray.
