BOYS BASKETBALL

NON-LEAGUE

Meadowdale 54, Inglemoor 51 (OT)

KENMORE — Jaymon Wright had 18 points, 15 rebounds and five assists to help lead Meadowdale to a season-opening, overtime win over Inglemoor.

Malik Robertson and Henock Tsegay each had 12 points, and Devon Waldrop-Leathers added seven points and eight rebounds for Meadowdale (1-0).

Neither team led by more than seven points in the back-and-forth game.

Glacier Peak 63, Everett 49

EVERETT — Jo Lee scored 16 points and Paxton Bigby added 13 as Glacier Peak used a 22-6 run in the third quarter to overcome a five-point deficit at halftime and raced to a season-opening win over Everett.

Cooper Jensen scored nine points and Nate Spang added eight for Glacier Peak (1-0).

Isaiah White scored 15 point and Daniel Savovic chipped in 10 for Everett (0-1).

Sehome 62, Arlington 49

BELLINGHAM — Ty Rusko scored 13 points, including four 3-pointers, but Arlington fell to Sehome in a non-league game.

Leyton Martin scored 10 points and David Zachman added eight for Arlington (0-1).

Grey Garrison had 19 points for Sehome (1-0).

Cascade 58, Ferndale 41

EVERETT — Devin Gilbert scored 21 points and Aidan Kopra added 12 as Cascade earned a non-league win over Ferndale.

Nate Lagutang and Javon Slaughter added eight points each for Cascade (2-0).

Lucas Mills scored a team-high 13 points for Ferndale (0-1).

Shorewood 60, Evergreen (Seattle) 37

SHORELINE — Jaden Messer netted a game-high 18 points and the Stormrays earned a non-league road victory over Evergreen (Seattle).

Jaden Marlow added 12 points and Natu Daniel eight for Shorewood (1-0), which used a 20-2 advantage in the third quarter to pull away.

Matthew Fiso hit all six of his free-throw attempts and led Evergreen (2-1) with nine points.

LYNNWOOD — Brynna Pukis scored a game-high 29 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter as Glacier Peak rallied from nine points down at halftime to beat Meadowdale in the first game of the season for both teams.

Kylani Rookstool scored 11 points and Zoey Ritter added nine for Glacier Peak (1-0).

Gia Powell scored 23 points and Jordan Leith added 10 for Meadowdale (0-1).

Lake Washington 57, Arlington 55

ARLINGTON — Angie Heff made the go-ahead bucket with 14 seconds to play as Lake Washington handed Arlington a tough loss in the season-opener for the Eagles.

Jenna Villa poured in 35 points and Rachel Snow added seven for Arlington (0-1).

Heff scored a team-high 23 points for Lake Washington (2-0).

Bellingham 42, Marysville Pilchuck 21

MARYSVILLE — Kiawna Calkins scored nine points on a trio of 3-pointers, but Marysville Pilchuck fell to Bellingham in a non-league game.

Vanessa Kennebrew chipped in five points for Marysville Pilchuck (0-2).

Elsbeth Wolverton scored a game-high 16 points for Bellingham (1-1).

Cascade 61, Sedro-Woolley 33

SEDRO-WOOLLEY — Abby Surowiec scored 20 points as Cascade opened its season with a non-league win over Sedro-Woolley.

Claire Mitchell scored 11 and Sahara Keys added 10 for Cascade (1-0).

Marysville Getchell 51, Mount Vernon 41

MOUNT VERNON — Hayden Robinson paced the way with 19 points as Marysville Getchell finished a busy week with a win over Mount Vernon.

Chloe Downing scored 12 points and Janelle Bagtas added nine for Marysville Getchell (2-1), which played its third game in five days.
