The Athlete of the Week nominees for March 13-19. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Tuesday’s edition of The Herald.

Vivienne Berrett | Stanwood | Girls Basketball
Berrett, a senior, earned first-team all-tournament honors at the Class 3A Girls Hardwood Classic. She averaged 19.8 points on 58.6% (34-of-57) shooting from the field and added 7.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks over four games while helping the Spartans claim a program-best fourth-place trophy. Berrett hit a game-winning shot at the buzzer in Stanwood’s consolation bracket semifinals win over Lincoln (Tacoma) on March 3. She won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week voting for Feb. 27-March 5 by claiming 829 (69.6%) of 1,191 votes.

Scarlette Chapman | Kamiak | Softball
Chapman, a junior, piled up 14 hits and 14 RBI while helping the Knights to a perfect 5-0 week. Her efforts included three hits with a home run and five RBI in a 13-2 win over Juanita on March 15, and three hits with two doubles and three RBI in Kamiak’s 10-6 victory over Arlington on March 17.
Rachael Dowdell | Everett | Girls Tennis
Dowdell, a senior, pulled out a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Salina Nguyen in the No. 1 singles match to help the Seagulls edge rival Cascade 4-3 on March 17.
Charlotte Giffin | Cedarcrest | Girls Golf
Giffin, a senior, shot a 3-over 40 for a first-place finish at match against Shorecrest on March 15 at Jackson Park Golf Course.
Victor Ibarra | Edmonds-Woodway | Boys Soccer
Ibarra, a senior, netted three goals over two games while helping the Warriors securing a pair of league victories over the week. He scored two in a 4-1 win over Cascade on March 16 and one in a 2-1 win over Shorecrest on March 18.
Brendan McKinley | Snohomish | Baseball
McKinley, a senior, hit a two-run home run and struck out three over two scoreless innings to earn the save in the Panthers’ 3-1 win over Kamiak on March 13. He also earned the save with four strikeouts over 2.2 shutout innings in Snohomish’s 2-1 victory over Lincoln (Seattle) on March 18.
Palmer Mutcheson | Snohomish | Boys Golf
Mutcheson, a junior, fired a 2-under 34 to claim medalist honors at the Where Do You Stand Match on March 14 at Snohomish Golf Course.
Ryan Rushton | Arlington | Boys Track & Field
Rushton, a senior, won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles at the Chuck Randall Invite on March 18 at Arlington High School. He finished the 110 hurdles in a personal-best 15.31 seconds and the 300 hurdles in a personal-best 41.28 seconds. Rushton also helped the Eagles’ 4×400 relay team to a victory.
Jana Willems | Glacier Peak | Girls Track & Field
Willems, a senior, ran winning times in the 100 meters and the 200 at the Chuck Randall Invite on March 18 at Arlington High School. She finished the 100 in a personal-best 12.22 seconds and the 200 in 25.86 seconds. Willems also helped the Grizzlies’ 4×100 relay team to a victory.
