The Athlete of the Week nominees for March 20-26. Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Tuesday’s edition of The Herald.

Scarlette Chapman | Kamiak | Softball
Chapman, a junior, piled up 14 hits and 14 RBI while helping the Knights to a perfect 5-0 week. Her efforts included three hits with a home run and five RBI in a 13-2 win over Juanita on March 15, and three hits with two doubles and three RBI in Kamiak’s 10-6 victory over Arlington on March 17. She won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week voting for March 13-19 by claiming 449 (28.2%) of 1,593 votes.

Axel Lopez | Cascade | Boys Soccer
Lopez, a freshman, notched the game-winning goal to lift the Bruins to a 1-0 victory over Stanwood on March 21.
Emerson Norris | Snohomish | Girls Tennis
Norris, a junior, didn’t drop a game in a matchup of returning state doubles qualifiers, topping Glacier Peak’s Allie Jansen 6-0, 6-0 on March 22.
Kari Petterson | Meadowdale | Girls Golf
Petterson, a sophomore, shot a 41 and claimed medalist honors in a match against Mountlake Terrace on March 22.
Yanina Sherwood | Jackson | Softball
Sherwood, a junior, tossed four shutouts, including a no-hitter, while leading the Timberwolves to a 4-0 week. She pitched a five-inning no-hitter against Marysville Getchell on March 22, a six-inning one-hitter against Cascade on March 20, an eight-inning two-hitter against Peninsula on March 25 and another two-hitter against Kentwood on March 25. She racked up 52 strikeouts and allowed just five hits and three walks over 26 innings pitched.
Brandon Suh | Kamiak | Boys Golf
Suh, a junior, fired a 1-under 34 to earn medalist honors at a four-team match at Gleneagle Golf Course on March 20.
Bohdy Stokes | Lakewood | Boys Track & Field
Stokes, a junior, won the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump and added a fifth-place finish in the long jump at the Twilight in the ‘Ham invite on March 24. He ran the 300 hurdles in 44.25 seconds and leapt 5 feet, 8 inches in the high jump.
Karsten Sweum | Glacier Peak | Baseball
Sweum, a senior, struck out 12 and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched and added two hits and three RBI at the plate in the Grizzlies’ 7-1 win over Kentwood on March 20. He also had three hits and a double in Glacier Peak’s 12-0 win over Marysville Pilchuck on Mach 23.
Hayli Tri | Lake Stevens | Girls Track & Field
Tri, a senior, won the 100-meter hurdles, the javelin throw and the high jump during a meet against Glacier Peak on March 23. She ran the 100 hurdles in a person-best 15.40 seconds, posted a 103-foot mark in the javelin and cleared 5-feet in the high jump. She also won the javelin throw with a mark of 113 feet, 2 inches at the Ray Cockrum Relays invite on March 25.
