The Athlete of the Week nominees for May 15-21 Voting closes at midnight Sunday. The winner will be announced with the next poll and in next Tuesday’s edition of The Herald.

Last week’s winner

Baella Stich | Snohomish | Girls Track and Field

Stich, a sophomore, won the 200 meters, the 400 and the long jump at the Wesco 3A North championships May 12. She ran the 200 in a personal-best 25.77 seconds, the 400 59.20 seconds and posted a mark of 17 feet, 0.5 inches in the long jump. She won The Herald’s Athlete of the Week voting for May 8-14 by claiming 668 (34.33%) of 1,946 votes.

This week’s nominees

Landon Davidson | Lakewood | Boys Track and Field

Davidson, a junior, posted a personal-best time of 40.45 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles to claim first place in the event at the Class 2A District 1 championships May 19 at Lakewood High School.

Allison Dumo | Mountlake Terrace | Girls Golf

Dumo, a junior, shot a 26-over 180 over two rounds to earn first place at the Class 3A District 1 tournament May 16 and 17 at Snohomish Golf Course.

Ava Enriquez | Shorewood | Girls Track and Field

Enriquez, a sophomore, earned first-place finishes in the pole vault and the triple jump at the Class 3A District 1 championships May 19 at Shoreline Stadium. She posted a mark of 12 feet in the pole vault and a personal-best 35 feet, 0.5 inches in the triple jump.

Jacob Kang | Jackson | Boys Golf

Kang, sophomore, fired an even-par 140 over two rounds to claim first place at the Class 4A District 1 tournament May 15 and 16 at Cedarcrest Golf Course.

Chloe Lee | Kamiak | Girls Tennis

Lee, a senior, beat Jackson’s Kirthika Sasikumar 7-5, 6-1 in the finals for a first-place finish at the Class 4A District 1 tournament May 16 and 17 at Glacier Peak High School.

Hailey Pelletier | Jackson | Softball

Pelletier, a junior, hit the go-ahead home run in the top of the seventh inning to help the Timberwolves to a 2-1 victory over Bothell in the Class 4A District 1/2 tournament title game May 19.

Gabriel Wilhelm | Edmonds-Woodway | Boys Soccer

Wilhelm, a senior, recorded a pair of shutouts in net while helping the Warriors to a 2-0 victory over Mead in the Class 3A state tournament’s round of 16 May 19 and 3-0 win over Southridge in the quarterfinals May 20.
