Monroe School Board: Ryan has kept focus on students

The Monroe School District has been through a lot of trials and tribulations over the last few years. One voice that has stayed engaged and consistent is Melanie Ryan. Melanie has worked tirelessly to make sure that students are at the forefront of her interactions with the Monroe School District. She promotes equitable treatment for all students and truly wants our community and students to thrive.

I have been a teacher in the Monroe School District for over 20 years, and can say Ryan’s qualifications are what we need on our school board. She has experience in finance, strategic plans, social work and she has started and been on the board of non-profit groups. She has also started and continues to run her own very successful consulting company that builds inclusive culture in communities and workplaces. The multitude of skills that she brings will be an invaluable asset to the students, families and staff of Monroe.

Ryan listens. She has spoken up about the good in our district as well as called for change. Students, caregivers and staff have spoken to Ryan about issues and concerns they have for our district and I have witnessed her stand beside them and bring those issues forward with a plan and a desire to make our district better for all in the Monroe School District. These are the reasons that this Monroe teacher, parent and community member will be voting for Melanie Ryan for School Board position 2.
