Shorecrest 1, Peninsula 0

BELLEVUE — The ninth-seeded Scots shut down the eighth-seeded Seahawks and advanced to the 3A state tournament quarterfinals.

Shorecrest (16-4-0) will visit top-seeded Bellevue for a quarterfinal game 6 p.m. Saturday.

Peninsula finished its season 13-4-2.

Mt. Spokane 2, Shorewood 1

SHORELINE — The second-seeded Stormrays fell in a major upset against the 15th-seeded Wildcats in the first round of the 3A state tournament.

Shorewood finished its season 18-2-0.

Mt. Spokane (12-6-0) will face seventh-seeded Lincoln (Seattle) in a quarterfinal matchup 3 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Stadium.

YAKIMA — The eighth-seeded Knights earned a sweep of the 16th-seeded Bulldogs in a consolation game of the 1A state tournament.

King’s (18-4) will face 12th-seeded King’s Way Christian in a loser-out consolation game 9 a.m. Saturday.

Montesano finished its season 13-9.
