Property taxes are too high; find another way to fund schools

In response to the Forum essay by Ron Friesen (one of my favorite writers) regarding the passing of levies to fund our schools (“As goes Boeing, so goes state funding for schools,” The Herald, May 25): Every time our leaders want a new tax they use our property as their cash cow! Many homeowners are being taxed out of their homes.
This is why school levies are not passing. Also our leaders keep telling us we need more growth. Snohomish County is already outgrowing its ability to keep up with overpopulation. Thirty-five years ago my property taxes were $700. Now they’re over $5,000! I will never vote for any kindof new taxes. There has to be some other way to fund schools.
