Herald vital to region’s issues

As a Herald subscriber and state senator for the area covered, I am saddened and disappointed to hear about the recent staff layoffs.

I am unsure how The Herald will be able to continue to produce quality and locally focused stories with a highly reduced staffing level. The Herald has been the only paper in the area to really focus on local matters and I think they’ve done a great job for the community I represent.

I ask for reconsideration of the layoffs.
