10th LD, Senate: St. Clair backs reproductive rights

Published 1:30 am Thursday, October 17, 2024

As a young woman in Washington state, I generally feel that my reproductive freedoms are protected by most of my state legislators. However, 10th Legislative District Sen. Ron Muzzall is not one of the legislators. He has voted against a constitutional amendment to protect individual reproductive freedoms, the Shield Law which protects patients seeking an abortion from outside legal prosecution and the Affirm Washington Abortion Access Act which protects nurse practitioners and physician assistants from prosecution.

Unlike Muzzall, Janet St. Clair will protect the reproductive freedoms of women across Washington state. She fundamentally understands that it is ultimately a woman’s personal choice regarding abortion and that the government should not be involved. Janet worked to protect against the closure of the Women’s Health Clinic on Whidbey Island. She also helped pass a federal policy platform that included access to abortion care while serving as the vice chair of the National Association of Counties Health Policy Committee. This is why I am supporting Janet. She will protect my reproductive rights while Mr. Muzzall will not.
