Genesis ups its game with the 2026 GV70 Sport Advanced Prestige all-wheel drive.

GV70 was already a top-tier, luxury compact SUV that delivered a high-performance, refined, and tech-forward driving experience.

The refreshed model is powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine that delivers 375-horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque, while seating up to five adults. It includes a 27-inch, curved OLED display, Nappa leather and heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, an electronic limited-slip differential, 21-inch wheels, and more advanced safety features.

“GV70 continues to set the benchmark by seamlessly blending athletic capability, bold designs and everyday versatility,” said Tedros Mengiste, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “The Sport Prestige trim amplifies GV70’s already confident character, making it an ideal choice for those who like to make a bold impression.”

GV70 comes in Select, Advanced, Sport Prestige and Sport Advanced Prestige trims.

The Sport Prestige trim is designed for performance, utilizing an eight-speed automatic transmission with launch control, reaching 0-60 mph in roughly five seconds. It includes sport-tuned features, including drive modes with “Sport Plus,” and boasts a comfortable yet athletic ride.

Five drive modes include Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Custom. Each offered tailored steering, suspension and throttle responses. Prestige also include specialized terrain modes (snow, mud, and sand) for the all-wheel drive system.

The posh cabin is highlighted with carbon fiber trim, leather seats with suede inserts, side bolsters and orange stitching, and am Alcantara microfiber suede headliner. Front seats include a massage function, with orange seatbelts all around. A crystal-looking gear selector dial and aluminum pedals complete the look. The expansive trunk accommodates luggage, golf clubs, and you-name-it.

Creature comforts abound. Where to start? Personal favorites included the panoramic sunroof, smart cruise control, adjustable ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bang & Olufsen premium audio, and head-up display.

A hands-free smart lift gate, power-folding mirrors, and a “welcome” feature that adjusts the steering wheel and seats to pre-set parameters greet you upon entry.

Exterior highllights feature a bold, redesigned, double-mesh G-Matrix crest grille, micro-lens headlight array, dark chrome wheels and a “Ceres Blue” coat of enamel.

The Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige floats down the highway in “Comfort” mode, with sound-deadening materials that include acoustic foam in the tired and a specialized headliner material keeping the cabin pin drop quiet.

GV70 receives a five-star NHTSA rating, making it a top-tier safety choice. The suite is highlighted by standard forward collision avoidance with pedestrian/cyclist detection and evasive steering assist, remote smart parking assist, lane and distance control, blind sport detection, and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist.

This feature came in handy when exiting a parking spot at the Washington Events Center after watching a performance of Les Mis on my wife’s birthday.
