Felnin Celesten hit for the cycle, and the Everett AquaSox rode a five-run fifth inning to a 9-5 win against the Eugene Emeralds in seven innings at PK Park on Thursday.

AquaSox outfielder Carlos Jimenez tied the game 4-4 with a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning of the Northwest League baseball game to kick off the rally, and outfielder Anthony Donofrio gave Everett a 6-4 lead with a two-run blast after designated hitter Luis Suisbel singled.

Three of the next four AquaSox hit doubles to drive in two more runs, with catcher Luke Stevenson scoring infielder Carter Dorighi, and Celesten bringing in Stevenson to push the lead to 8-4. Each side scored one more run down the stretch as Everett locked up its third straight victory to improve to 4-2 in the second half schedule.

Celesten finished 4-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored. He started with an RBI single in the first inning before hitting a solo homer in the third. The 20-year-old struck out in his third plate appearance, but smacked an RBI double as part of the fifth-inning rally. Celesten capped his day with an RBI triple in the top of the seventh to close out the 9-5 win.

AquaSox starter Chase Centala allowed four hits and three earned runs in 3 2/3 innings, and Jimenez went 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and one RBI.

Outfielder Jonny Farmelo led off the game with a double, and Celesten drove him in with a single two batters later. Infielder Brandon Eike extended the lead to 2-0 with a sacrifice fly. Eugene struck back when outfielder Trevor Cohen scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first, but Celesten restored the two-run lead with a solo homer in the top of the third.

The Emeralds cut it to 3-2 in the fourth when infielder Jhonny Level scored on a throwing error from Donofrio as infielder Gavin Kilen got on base with a double, and outfielder Dakota Jordan gave Eugene the lead in the next at-bat with a two-run homer to make it 4-3.

Centala retired the next two batters, but the Emeralds put runners on the corners when designated hitter Jakob Christian reached on a throwing error from Celesten. Everett reliever Wyatt Lunsford-Shenkman took over on the mound and struck out infielder Walker Martin to end the inning.

Once the AquaSox completed their five-run surge to take the lead back in the fifth, Lunsford-Shenkman allowed a run on an RBI groundout from Jordan, but finished with two strikeouts and two hits allowed in 1 1/3 innings before Jack White and Calvin Schapira each tossed one hitless inning to preserve the victory.

Everett started the second game of a scheduled double-header against the Emeralds, but it got suspended due to rain in the top of the third with Eugene leading 6-5. The game is set to resume on Friday at 5:05 p.m. PT, creating a new double-header with Friday’s originally scheduled game.
