Man and dog killed in mobile home fire outside of Monroe

EVERETT — A man and a dog died in a motor home fire outside of Monroe on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters responded before 3:30 p.m. to Friar Creek Road where heavy smoke and flames were coming from a mobile home, according to a press release from Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue.

First responders found the man and a dog inside the home during their search, the department said.

Both were rescued from the home by firefighters, but efforts to save their lives were unsuccessful and they died from their injuries, according to the release.

The fire department said no one else was hurt. The man’s identity has not yet been released.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
