Man drowns in river near Arlington on Wednesday

EVERETT — One person is dead after a drowning near Arlington on Wednesday evening.
First responders were called to the 16700 block of Jordan Road around 6:15 p.m. for reports of a drowning in the Stillaguamish River, according to Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe.
Bystanders had pulled the man from the river near the Jordan Bridge and performed CPR until medics arrived, O’Keefe said.
Efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
The man’s identity was not yet known, O’Keefe said.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will work to identify the man and determine his cause and manner of death.
