Prep volleyball: Mountlake Terrace 3, Marysville Pilchuck 1

MARYSVILLE — In a battle of two unbeaten teams, Mountlake Terrace defeated Marysville Pilchuck 3-1 in a back-and-forth nonconference game Tuesday night in Marysville.

Madison Eich led the Hawks (3-0 overall) with nine kills and five digs and senior Casey Hynes added five kills and 15 assists.

“There was a lot of scrimmaging. MP is a pretty good team,” said Mountlake Terrace head coach Marietta Snyder. “It was a pretty tight match going back-and-forth. I think we were evenly matched. It could’ve gone either way. Both teams played pretty dang hard. … We just happened to win this time.”

Snyder said her team wasn’t overly nervous to play the previously undefeated Tomahawks (3-1). According to the coach, the Hawks are excited to play regardless of the opponent.

“My team is pretty even keel,” Snyder said. “When they’re playing a match they’re pretty pumped no matter who it is.”
