Legalize all crime and just pay a tax

I have noticed how much additional projected revenue that the state will bring in from the sales of marijuana.

This is wonderful idea. Shift crime from the underworld to the state, make it legal, and make it a revenue enhancer that will allow the state to continue its spending spree.

In addition, it relieves the police and court systems from all of the petty crime related to the use and sale of marijuana.

Why not step it up and solve all the budget problems permanently by decriminalizing all crime and make it subject to a tax. OMG, we could close the prisons.

Want to use a prostitute, pay a tax (PAT); child porn, PAT; child prostitution, marijuana impaired driving, breaking and entering, assault, abortion, murder, spouse abuse, sex with a donkey, PAT.

It seems that the solution to everything is to call it or assess it as a tax. Don’t have the money to pay the tax? That’s OK. Then someone gets to use you as target practice because nothing is a crime anymore once you PAT. Fill those government coffers!

No more crime, no more sin, absolute Nirvana.

I know, this guy is nuts. He sure is stretching it. But, there is one thing I remember when medical marijuana was passed: non-medical use of marijuana would not be legalized.

I have a great idea. Let’s set up state run stores to sell alcohol to increase revenues.

Someone in government is filling their pockets on this one.
