Buddy, Ritchie and The Big Bopper: “The Day the Music Died,” featuring the music of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and JP Richardson, is at 7:30 p.m. May 13 at the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St. Festival seating. Everett Philharmonic Orchestra: Tickets, with discounts for groups, seniors, students and military, are available at www.everettphil.org. The “Listener’s Choice” season finale concert is 7 p.m. May 14 at Everett Civic Auditorium.

Mill Creek Chorale: The 50-voice group’s spring concert, “Let It Shine,” featuring Broadway tunes and gospel songs, will be presented at 3 and 7 p.m. May 14 at Advent Lutheran Church, 4306 132nd St. SE, Mill Creek. Under the direction of Sean Berg, the chorale’s matinee will feature Cascade High School’s Vivace group. The evening performance will feature the debut of the Mill Creek Children’s Chorus. Lynnwood Community Band: The group plays the first-ever concert at the new Bothell City Hall Plaza at 3:30 p.m. May 14 at 18415 101st Ave. NE. Free and free parking at the City Hall garage. Bring a chair.

Everett Rock Party: Marc Tachell, the local online personality known as “Everett Rock,” is throwing a free all-ages party featuring five bands from 3 to 11 p.m. May 14 at the Golf Range and Lounge, 1215 80th St. SW, Everett. The bands are Body Electric, Moon Daddy, The Rooners, Medicine Hat and The High Council. More at everettrock.com.

Darol Anger and Emy Phelps: One of the country’s top fiddle players, the legendary Darol Anger, joins local songwriter Emy Phelps for this special concert at 4 p.m. May 15 at the Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish. For more information, call 360-568-9412.

Stacy Jones: The local Southern Rock queen is playing a free all-ages concert at 11 a.m. May 15 at Main Stage, 900 First St., Snohomish. More at www.stacyjonesband.com.

West African Kora Music Hear the music of West Africa when Sean Gaskell performs at 2 p.m. May 15 in the Everett Public Library Auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Admission is free. Gaskell performs traditional songs on a 21-string harp called the Kora, featuring the music of the Mande people, who live in Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Guinea Bissau. The concert will be repeated at 4 p.m. May 16 at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave.

Trinity’s Organ Recital Series: The season at Trinity Lutheran Church ends with a concert by Michael Kleinschmidt, canon musician at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Seattle, at 7 p.m. May 15 at 6215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. Suggested donation is $15.

Evergreen Community Orchestra: The orchestra presents a free concert at 2:30 p.m. May 15 at the Northwest Music Hall, in the Everett Mall near Macy’s. The “Spring Classics” concert, directed by Marcin Paczkowski, features violin soloist Luke Fitzpatrick performing the “Air” from Carl Goldmark’s Violin Concerto No. 1. Also on the program is “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Aaron Copeland, “Eine Kleine Nachmusik” by W.A. Seattle Pacific University Brass Quintet: The group performs at 6 p.m. May 15, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Call 425-252-3757. The chorale’s 50th anniversary season continues with “Celebrate and Sing” at 7 p.m. June 11 and 3 p.m. June 12, featuring a collage of American choral music from the chorale’s 50-year history.
