Filmmaker Ken Burns turns his attention to another American legend with “Jackie Robinson,” an inspiring two-part profile of the man who broke baseball’s color barrier in 1947. Part 1 charts his rise from humble origins to stardom with the Brooklyn Dodgers. 9 p.m., PBS.

The new action-thriller “Hunters” follows FBI agent Flynn Carroll (Nathan Phillips) whose wife suddenly goes missing. His search for her leads him to a classified government organization that tracks and fights alien terrorists. 10 p.m., Syfy.
