SHORELINE — Playing its third game in as many days, Shorecrest narrowly defeated Lynnwood 46-38 in a Wesco 3A contest at Shorecrest H.S on Saturday.

Despite its place as second-best in the league, Shorecrest struggled against a Lynnwood team that is second-to-last in the league.

“This is kind of a tough game for us…it was a little hard for our guys to turn around and get focused for Lynnwood,” Shorecrest coach Brian Fischer said.

Shorecrest beat Marysville Getchell on Thursday, Meadowdale on Friday, and on Saturday, Lynnwood gave the Scots a big test.

“It’s a challenge to maintain your focus and intensity three nights in a row…They played us really tough, they got some early threes and hung around in the game, long enough to make it interesting.

“I think our guys responded well by just hanging in there, we did a really nice job of managing the game,” said Fischer.

Senior forward Keith Shattuck made four of his five 3-pointers in the second quarter for the Scots, and finished with a game-high 17 points. Another senior forward, Emmanuel Chibuogwu Jr., scored 13 points and tallied 10 rebounds for Shorecrest.

A.J. Bell made four 3-pointers for Lynnwood, finishing with 12 points.
