Prep boys basketball: South Whidbey 64, Lakewood 50

LANGLEY — South Whidbey was 22-for-29 from the foul line, including 12-for-13 in the fourth quarter of the Cascade Conference opener for both schools. Senior guard Riley Newman, the reigning Cascade Conference Player of the Year, had 29 points and 10 rebounds and T.J. Russell had 15 points, going 13-for-14 from the foul line and leading a solid defensive effort for South Whidbey. Dustin Stanton scored 14 points and Trey Haslom had 13 for Lakewood.
