It’s all good
Of the nation’s estimated 14.6 million unemployed people, a lucky few have discovered the bright side of joblessness: a condition they call “Funemployment,” in which they explore new hobbies, volunteer or just chill out (Page A4).
But the funemployed aren’t completely unproductive; they do provide a rich trove of anecdotal evidence for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to deploy the next time he argues against an extension of unemployment insurance.
Splitsville: Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren were divorced Monday, nine months after a mysterious late-night car crash that led to a sordid sex scandal and uncharacteristically awful golfing by Woods (Page C6).
Now Woods needs a good performance at his next tournament not only to show he is worth picking for the Ryder Cup, but to pick up some prize money so he doesn’t fall behind on his child support.
Up in the sky: A California company brought its 246-foot zeppelin to Paine Field on Monday, hoping to drum up business for sightseeing charter flights (Page B1).
Even though this zeppelin’s filled with helium, not hydrogen, please refrain from “O the humanity” jokes.
