SUNRIVER, Ore. — D.A. Weibring and Tom Lehman shot 5-under-par 67s Thursday to share the first-round lead at the Jeld-Wen Tradition at Crosswater Club.

Playing on a beautiful, but slightly breezy day, Weibring made birdies at Nos. 17 and 18 to take the lead.

Weibring, whose best finish on the Champions Tour this season is a tie for fifth, made four of his six birdies on the front nine, including a stretch of three consecutive.

Lehman, playing in the final group of the day, also finished strong, rolling in a 20-foot birdie putt at 18 to grab a share of the lead.

The Tradition is the fourth of five majors on the Champions Tour. Nearly one-third of the 66-man field is within two strokes of the lead.
