Prep girls soccer: Snohomish 4, Monroe 3 (shootout)

SNOHOMISH — Aly Morgan gave Snohomish a 4-3 lead in penalty kicks and the Panthers held on to win the back-and-forth Wesco North game in a shootout. Monroe (0-2 league and overall) scored first in the 11th minute off a free kick by Alyssa Drew. Snohomish (2-0, 3-0) netted the next three points with goals from Amanda Morrell (Annie Hund assist), Courtney Brown (Shelby Beeman) and Lauren Johnson (Courtney Johnson). Down 3-1, Kayla Browne scored in the 60th and 73rd (Lorelei Ritzert) minutes to force the overtime and shootout. Melissa Dreves (Snohomish) and Lynzee Felder (Monroe) were the goalkeepers for their respective teams.
