EDMONDS — In a matchup of two district-bound teams from the Wesco South, Kamiak got the better of Edmonds-Woodway in a three set win 25-17, 25-15 and 25-17 Wednesday at Edmonds-Woodway H.S.
It was the final regular season game for both teams.
Bryce Larson had 10 kills and 15 digs to lead the Knights (6-2 league, 10-4 overall) while Priya Hazari had seven aces and Ally Bowles contributed 23 assists.
“Defensively we just kind of shut down and weren’t aggressive enough on offense,” Edmonds-Woodway head coach Nicole Bordeaux said.
Taylor Brooks had 11 assists, fellow senior Sydney Donaldson added seven kills and Rebecca Stern had 17 digs to lead the Warriors (5-3, 6-8).
“I think they just solidly beat us on serve,” Bordeaux added. “They have a couple tough servers that did a really good job.”
With the win, Kamiak earned a date with the third-place team out of the Wesco North in the first round of the 4A District 1 tournament November 2 at Marysville-Pilchuck H.S.
