Seasons of Hope luncheon
Volunteer table captains are needed by the Evergreen Healthcare Foundation for its second annual Seasons of Hope Luncheon. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon starts promptly at noon, Nov. 18 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW. Seasons of Hope benefits Evergreen’s Hospice and Palliative Care programs.
Special Remembrance Tables, which seat 10, are available for $1,000, and provide family and guests an opportunity to share a photo tribute in memory of a loved one. The donation will include memorial recognition in the printed event program and the video presentation.
Other table captains are needed to either purchase a table for $450 and fill it with guests or invite friends to purchase tickets at their table. Individual tickets are $45.
Seating at the luncheon is limited.

YWCA’s Working Women’s Wardrobe
The Working Women’s Wardrobe is a program through the YWCA of Snohomish County which provides clothing to low-income women who are looking for interview or work appropriate clothing. They are in need of jewelry and handbags to accent clothing, as well as personal care products such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, hand soap, body lotions and unused make-up. Drop off at the YWCA of Snohomish County, 3301 Broadway, Everett, between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NARFE Sno-King Chapter meeting
The NARFE Chapter 1966 October meeting is scheduled for Oct. 21 at the Snohomish County PUD Auditorium, 21018 Highway 99, Lynnwood. Clothes for Kids benefit show
Enjoy some of the area’s dancers, vocalists and specialty performers. Hosted by FUSION Dance Company to benefit Clothes for Kids, An Evening of Talent is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Mountlake Terrace High School Performing Arts Center, 21801 44th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace.
FUSION Dance Company directors Emily Baquet and Kristine Ross Gibb have encouraged their semiprofessional dance company comprised of youth, college and adult dancers to use their talent of dance for a noble cause, with proceeds benefiting the Clothes for Kids organization.

Mobile mammo coach
Bartell Drugs and Evergreen Hospital Medical Center are bringing the Evergreen Mobile Mammography Coach to Everett and Lynnwood-area Bartell Drugs stores this fall. The coach, equipped to provide the same digital mammograms women receive in hospital and clinic settings, will be open from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at:

Clothes for Kids spaghetti and bingo
Clothes for Kids presents an evening of Spaghetti &Bingo from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 9 at Lynnwood Elks, 6620 196th St. SW, Lynnwood.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Clothes for Kids and help provide wardrobes for more than 5,200 school-aged children in Snohomish County. The dinner will include raffles and bingo prizes. Swedish looking for young artists
Swedish Edmonds Hospital is building a new campus in the South Everett/Mill Creek area, located just off I-5 on 128th Street. The facility will feature a full-service Emergency Department, primary care clinic and office space for various physician specialists. In an effort to be an engaged community partner and improve the healing environment of the new facility, Swedish staff would like to feature digital images of artwork or photos by children or young adults who live in the Mill Creek/Everett area (open to children and young adults ages 5 to 18). The digital images selected will be turned into long-lasting pieces of art to showcase in the new Swedish facility.
Digital artwork files must be submitted for consideration by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 1. The artwork and an accompanying release form must be e-mailed to swedishartmillcreek@gmail.com.

Teen jam session at MLT Library
In honor of Teen Read Month, the Mountlake Terrace Library staff present Books with Beat. Teens are invited to bring their guitars, keyboards and drums, and be ready to rock out. The jam session is from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 6 at the MLT Library, 23300 58th Ave. W next to old City Hall.
The teen librarian will bring her drum set and two microphones. Bring amps and five copies of TABS for songs to try out, if possible. Otherwise, the group will just make as much noise as they can with what they have.

Red Cross offers pet First Aid classes
The Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering Pet CPR/First Aid classes Oct. 7 and Nov. 4 at its Everett offices.
Cost is $40 and includes a choice of a $16 dog or cat first aid book and DVD.

FD 1 offers CPR class
Citizens can sign up to learn the lifesaving skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation at CPR Saturday sponsored by Snohomish County Fire District 1 on Oct. 9.
The class, led by firefighters certified to teach American Heart Association CPR, will meet from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Lynnwood High School Gymnasium, 18218 North Road, Bothell.
Students will learn and practice proper CPR technique using mannequins. The class also includes hands-on training on how to use an automated defibrillator – an easy-to-use, computerized device that can safely administer a shock to attempt to restore a normal heartbeat for a patient in cardiac arrest.
The cost is $10 for an individual or $20 for a family of four. Students must be at least 12 years old. Payment and preregistration forms must be received at FD 1 Headquarters by 5 p.m., Oct. 7. MC Garden Club

Free drop-in citizenship classes will again be offered at the Mountlake Terrace Library beginning 7 p.m. Oct. 14. Whether you are just starting to apply for citizenship or already have an interview date, these classes will help prepare for the citizenship test. Taught by a trained volunteer, the classes will be offered on a drop-in basis every Thursday at 7 p.m.
