Barbie 3.0

Published 11:03 pm Sunday, September 26, 2010

The latest Barbie to hit toy store shelves is Computer Engineer Barbie, dressed and accessorized with help from a real-life female computer engineer who works at the Defense Department.

Coming soon: Computer Engineer Ken, dressed in a grease-stained T-shirt and accessorized with a work station decorated with tiny “Star Wars” action figures.

Granite Falls Breakfast Club: A camera crew from a MTV reality show followed five Granite Falls High School students for several days in March, and you can see the results on TV Tuesday night.

The series, “If You Really Knew Me,” tries to break down the stereotypes that endure in America’s high schools by encouraging kids to reach out to students in other cliques. Spoiler alert: The jock shoves the drama geek into a Dumpster.

Uniquely Lynnwood: The city of Lynnwood plans an informational meeting on a plan to revitalize and redesign the Highway 99 corridor through the city.

Part of the intent is to create a Lynnwood identity in the area. Given the city’s current financial woes, sounds like more pawn shops and payday loan emporiums might be in order.
