Have guns? Won’t travel: Travel writer Arthur Frommer says he’s boycotting Arizona because state law there allows people to openly carry firearms. Frommer says he won’t go to any state where residents carry loaded weapons as a political protest.
As this will limit Frommer’s travel options, look for his new book this fall, “A Locked Room on an Uncharted Desert Island With a Single Palm Tree on $5 a Day.”

Not a quiet week: The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America voted Friday to allow gay men and lesbians in committed relationships to serve as clergy in the church, making it one of the largest Christian denominations to open its pulpits to homosexuals.
The loud crash you heard Friday was Myrtle Krebsbach dropping the tuna noodle hot dish she had prepared for the Lake Wobegon Lutheran Church potluck that night.

Can’t I have both? A survey of 12,500 business travelers found that 51 percent of those polled preferred a good night’s sleep to great sex.
The other 49 percent yawned sleepily during the survey but had big goofy grins.
