SNOHOMISH — Arlington starting pitcher Jocelyn Probert held off Snohomish just long enough for the Eagles to give Probert a nice four-run cushion in Friday’s Wesco North softball game at Snohomish H.S.

Arlington tacked on three runs in the seventh and Probert held Snohomish to two runs in the seventh inning to hold on for a 4-2 win.

The win earned a 4A District 1 playoff berth for the Eagles, who are now 10-4 in league, 13-5 overall. Snohomish dropped to 6-8, 7-11.

Probert kept Snohomish off balance with an effective curveball, forcing groundball outs and five strikeouts, said Snohomish coach Lou Kennedy.

Veronica Ladines led Arlington, batting 2-for-4 with the eventual game-winning RBI in the seventh. Also, Kalie Basher scored a run and had two RBI for the Eagles.

Dakota Johnson provided a pinch-hit single in the seventh, scoring one of the Panthers’ runs in the inning. The Panthers left a runner on base, with the potential tying run at the plate before Probert finished off Snohomish.
