Tips netminder Kent Simpson received another honor as he was invited to Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence goalie camp.

Simpson was one of nine goaltenders invited to the under-20 camp, which takes place June 17-20 in Calgary, Alberta. He’s one of three WHL representatives, joining Seattle’s Calvin Pickard and Medicine Hat’s Tyler Bunz. The goalie camp is one of the tools Hockey Canada uses for evaluating candidates for the World Junior Hockey Championships.

The camp also takes place one week before the NHL draft. Simpson is expected to selected in the first three rounds of the draft.
