More taxes will welcome citizens

Regarding the Wednesday article, “Lake Stevens to add more than 10,000 through annexation”:

Well, I hope all those who supported this annexation are happy now.

The article in The Herald said, “It might not be obvious to more than 10,000 people on Thursday that they’re living in a different place than they were the day before.”

Well, it may not seem different Thursday, but boy, are they in for a change along with all the previous Lake Stevens residents.

The city will now have to hire new city staff and 12 new police officers. So where do you suppose all that money comes from? Yup, more taxes and new taxes, you’ll see them in your sales tax, property tax, water tax, phone tax, PUD tax, garbage tax, cable tax, etc.

Oh, well, guess that’s what you wanted and you got it.

Be careful what you ask for. LOL
